Exercise Street is a Council scheme developed in response to COVID19. It is run by volunteers organised through H.O.M.E RA and advertised by posters on Elgin Road. As it is a community based outdoor activity and weather dependent, we have got permission to run it on Saturdays or Sundays, allowing some flexibility on the timing.
On four weekends in June/July 2020 in the car free open road, the events have seen neighbours and friends having fun. Sitting, chatting and watching. Cycling, scootering, skipping, playing hopscotch and kicking the pebble with your hopping foot. The band was brilliant keeping everyone entertained.
The Addiscombe Triangle
With money donated by our Ward Councillors, over the last couple of years members of the H.O.M.E committee have planted three ornamental fruit trees and many bulbs for the community to enjoy. Volunteers are needed to help water the trees in dry weather and care for the upkeep of the Triangle. If you can assist with this please contact Carol at email@example.com
H.O.M.E. New Year Social 2020
Our grateful thanks to Irmela and Peter for hosting this event on Saturday 11th January 2020.
With food, drink and the traditional raffle, our socials are friendly and informal.
We had our first every Quiz Night on Friday 15th November 2019 at the Builders Arms. A very good turnout.
Thanks to Ellen for organising the whole thing.
H.O.M.E. Area Cleanup
On a sunny Sunday 17th November 2019, Tim and a gang of eight set out to litter pick in the H.O.M.E roads.
Fresh air, chat and doing a good job, what could be better.
